GameChanger Stats Import
Dugout Master reads the season stats you already keep in GameChanger. There is no automatic connection between the two apps — you export a file from GameChanger and import it here, whenever you want your numbers brought up to date.
Exporting from GameChanger
Section titled “Exporting from GameChanger”- Open your team in GameChanger on the web at gc.com.
- Go to your team’s Stats tab and choose the season you want.
- Export the season stats as a CSV. GameChanger’s own guide to exporting season stats walks through the current version of that screen.
Use the season stats export — the file with one row per player and their season totals. A single game’s box score, or a spray-chart or pitching-log export, doesn’t carry the columns the import is looking for.
Importing the CSV
Section titled “Importing the CSV”From your roster, open Import GameChanger Stats and drop the CSV in (or choose the file).
Dugout Master matches each row to a player on your roster by name, and shows you every match before anything is written. Rows it isn’t sure about wait for you: pick the right player, create a new one, or leave the row out of the import entirely. Nothing is saved until you confirm.
Batting, pitching, and fielding columns all come across when the export includes them.
What happens after an import
Section titled “What happens after an import”Each import saves a snapshot: a dated, permanent record of where every player stood at that moment. Importing again never overwrites the previous one — it adds another snapshot alongside it.
That is what makes a player’s development readable over time. With one import you see season totals; with several you see the shape of a season — which numbers are climbing, which have flattened, and when that changed. The player report’s performance trend and snapshot history are both built from these snapshots.
Keeping stats current
Section titled “Keeping stats current”Dugout Master watches for one thing: a completed game since your last import. When it finds one, it says your stats may be out of date and offers to open the import.
It’s worded that way on purpose. All Dugout Master knows is that you’ve played since you last imported — whether GameChanger has anything new to give depends on whether that game was scored there. If it was, a fresh export brings the new numbers over.
If it isn’t a good moment, you can dismiss the message or have Dugout Master remind you later. Dismissing it clears it for now, not forever: the next time you play a game after an import, the reminder is eligible to come back.
