Contacts

Contacts are the people around your team who aren’t players — parents, guardians, emergency contacts, or anyone else you need to reach. Each contact is its own record with a name, phone, and email, and a player can link to one or more of them instead of retyping the same guardian’s details for every sibling on the roster.

The Contacts directory listing parents and guardians linked to the roster

From Roster → Contacts, tap New Contact and enter a name, phone, and email. None of the fields are required to save, but a contact needs at least a name to be useful in the directory.

If the phone or email you enter already matches an existing contact, Dugout Master flags it and offers to use that contact instead of creating a duplicate.

A player’s Parents & Guardians section (on the player form) is where contacts attach to a roster. Add Parent or Guardian opens the same picker used everywhere else in Contacts — choose someone already on your team or create a new one — and each link carries its own relationship label (Mother, Father, Legal guardian, and so on), since the same person can be a parent to one player and a guardian to another.

The first contact on a player is their primary contact; reorder the list with Make primary to change which one that is. Removing a contact from a player only unlinks it — the contact record stays, still attached to any siblings or other players.

From the Contacts directory itself, use Assign Player on a contact’s row to link them to a player from the other direction, and the Needs a Contact section at the top of the page lists any active player with nobody linked yet.

A contact’s own page (tap their name) gives you two ways to remove one:

  • Deactivate hides the contact from the default directory view and skips them on announcement emails, but every player reference and assignment history stays intact — the right choice for a guardian who’s no longer involved but whose past record you want to keep.
  • Delete permanently removes the contact and unlinks them from every player. Dugout Master tells you how many players will lose the reference before you confirm.
